Research Seminar Highlights the Effects of Probiotics on Longevity, Fertility, and Antimicrobial Resistance

Enayetpur, Sirajganj, Bangladesh  I  July 14, 2026 (Tuesday): The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU) organized a research seminar during the first session of the day. The session was conducted by Ms. K. M. Tanjida Islam, Lectureron probation, Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, who served as the resource person. She presented her research titled, “The Effects of Probiotics on Longevity and Fertility of Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) and Assessment of Their Antimicrobial Resistant Patterns through in vitro, in vivo, and in silico Approaches.”  The presentation explored the potential impact of probiotics on longevity and reproductive health while assessing antimicrobial resistance patterns using integrated experimental and computational approaches.

The presentation highlighted the potential effects of probiotics on lifespan and reproductive health using C. elegans as a model organism, while also examining antimicrobial resistance through integrated in vitro, in vivo, and in silico approaches. The session provided valuable insights into contemporary biomedical research and encouraged academic discussion among faculty members and researchers. The seminar concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, where participants exchanged ideas and sought further clarification on the research findings.

IQAC Reviews Digital Accreditation Readiness and Course Enrollment Progress

In the second session of the day, the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU) held a review meeting on the University's digital accreditation readiness initiatives. Professor Dr. Mostofa Mahmud Hasan, Director of IQAC, presented the progress of the digital Self-Assessment Report (SAR) system and led a discussion on its further enhancement by incorporating feedback from the participants.

During the meeting, Mr. Md. Matiur Rahman, Additional Director (QA), introduced an online self-assessment survey designed to facilitate the efficient and timely completion of the University's accreditation documentation. He also outlined the current status of the accreditation activities and emphasized conducting future tasks through the online system to improve coordination and efficiency.

The session also included a comprehensive review of the University's course enrollment process, where the Director discussed ongoing activities, identified challenges, and proposed measures for further improvement. The meeting concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, allowing participants to resolve issues and exchange valuable suggestions for strengthening the University's quality assurance and accreditation processes.
