UGC Approves Updated M.Sc. in Medical Physics Program at KYAU

Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU) has received approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh to offer the updated Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Medical Physics program under the Department of Medical Physics, School of Science and Engineering. The approval, granted on 17 June 2026, marks another significant milestone in the University's commitment to advancing specialized higher education and strengthening the healthcare sector through quality academic programs.

The two-year postgraduate program comprises 66 credit hours and has been approved for a period of four years. Under the approval, KYAU is authorized to enroll a maximum of 35 students per semester, and the program will be conducted exclusively at the University's Enayetpur campus.

The revised curriculum has been designed to provide students with advanced theoretical knowledge, practical skills, clinical exposure, and research experience in medical physics. It aims to prepare graduates for professional careers in hospitals, diagnostic and radiotherapy centers, healthcare institutions, universities, research organizations, regulatory bodies, and other national and international organizations where expertise in medical physics is required.

To ensure the successful implementation of the program, KYAU will maintain qualified faculty members, modern laboratory and library facilities, research opportunities, approved grading standards, scholarships for eligible students, and a system of continuous curriculum review and development in line with emerging technologies and international academic standards.

The approval further reflects KYAU's dedication to producing competent, ethical, and globally competitive medical physicists who can contribute to quality healthcare services, scientific research, innovation, and the sustainable development of Bangladesh's rapidly expanding healthcare sector.
