Empowering Future Biotechnologists: KYAU Students Excel at NYBB Leadership Conclave 2026

Students of the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology (BCBT), Khwaja Yunus Ali University, participated in the NYBB Leadership Conclave 2026, organized by the Network of Young Biotechnologists Bangladesh (NYBB) at the University of Dhaka. The national leadership workshop brought together more than 120 students and young graduates from 27 universities across Bangladesh with the aim of developing leadership, organizational, and science communication skills among young biotechnologists.
The conclave featured interactive sessions on leadership development, organizational management, scientific event planning, science journalism, higher education, career planning, and communication skills. Renowned academicians, researchers, and media professionals conducted the training sessions, providing participants with practical insights into teamwork, problem-solving, and effective leadership in scientific organizations.
A significant highlight of the program was the formal inauguration of the 4th National Steering Committee of NYBB. A. M. Sadik, student of the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Khwaja Yunus Ali University, was appointed as Executive Officer (Public Relations and Recruitment) of the 4th National Steering Committee and also selected as Chapter Chair of the university chapter. In addition, Most. Anamika Khatun and Most. Nayeema Khatun was appointed as Co-Chair of the chapter, while eight other students from the department were selected as Executive Members.
The participation and leadership appointments of KYAU students reflect the department's growing contribution to national biotechnology initiatives and its commitment to developing future scientific leaders through research, communication, and organizational excellence.
