KYAU Holds 17th Syndicate Meeting, Approves Major Academic and Administrative Decisions

Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU) successfully conducted its 17th Regular Syndicate Meeting at the University Conference Room (Room No. 307) on Saturday. The meeting was presided over by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Asraf Ali.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohammad Yusuf, Honorable Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT); Professor Dr. Mostofa Mahmud Hasan, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Social Science; Professor Dr. Fazle Rabbi Shakil Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Biomedical Science; and Professor Dr. Mohammad Shahed Akand, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering. Joining virtually were Mr. Md. Saidur Rahman, Joint Secretary (Secondary-1 Wing), nominated by the Ministry of Education; Professor Dr. Suman Kanti Barua, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Rabindra University, Bangladesh and UGC-nominated Syndicate Member; Ms. Hosne Ara Hussain, BoT Member; and Mr. Mohammed Yunus Khan, BoT Member. The distinguished members provided valuable guidance and recommendations on various academic and administrative matters of the University.

At the outset, the Vice-Chancellor warmly welcomed all members and expressed gratitude for their participation. He also paid tribute to the memory of the late Founder of the University, Dr. Mir Mohammad Amzad Hussain, and prayed for the eternal peace of his soul.

Following detailed discussions and careful review, all agenda items presented before the Syndicate were unanimously approved. The approved decisions are expected to significantly strengthen the University’s academic excellence, administrative efficiency, institutional governance, and overall development.

Among the major decisions approved were the confirmation of the minutes of the previous 16th Syndicate Meeting and the approval of recommendations adopted in the 25th and 26th Academic Council Meetings. The Syndicate also granted final approval to the examination results of various academic programs and faculties.

The meeting further approved the recommendations submitted by the Finance Committee and endorsed the decisions of the 75th to 81st Recruitment Committees along with the Faculty Promotion Committee held on February 22, 2026. Several important appointments and promotions aimed at enhancing academic and administrative effectiveness across the University were also approved.

In addition, the Syndicate approved the University’s Annual Report 2025 for submission to the University Grants Commission (UGC) through the Board of Trustees. Various policy and developmental initiatives focusing on quality assurance, academic excellence, research activities, student welfare, transparency, accountability, and good governance were also endorsed.

During the meeting, members exchanged views on the University’s ongoing development initiatives, modernization of academic infrastructure, expansion of research opportunities, and enhancement of quality higher education in line with national and international standards.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor expressed sincere appreciation to all members for their valuable contributions and constructive suggestions. He expressed optimism that the decisions adopted during the meeting would further strengthen KYAU’s academic, administrative, and institutional capacities and continue advancing the University as a center of excellence in higher education.
