BdREN & KYAU jointly presents- A daylong workshop on “Enhancement of Collaboration and Use of Generate AI”

On 30 April 2026, a daylong workshop titled “Enhancement of Collaboration and Use of Generative AI” was held at Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU). The event was organized by the Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN) under the overall supervision of the university’s Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).

 

The workshop was graced by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Md. Asraf Ali, as the Chief Guest, while the Principal of Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College, Professor Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, attended as the Special Guest. Among others present were Advisor Professor Dr. Hossain Reza, Director of IQAC Professor Dr. Mostofa Mahmud Hasan, Registrar Mr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, CEO of BdREN Mr. Mohammad Tawrit, CMO Mr. Ekhlas Uddin Ahmed, along with senior officials of BdREN, all faculty members and administrative staff of the university, and several doctors from the medical college. The program began with the presence and registration of the participants.

 

BdREN organized this workshop with the objective of strengthening collaboration with Khwaja Yunus Ali University and encouraging the effective use of emerging technologies, particularly generative AI, in higher education. Teachers, doctors, officials, and stakeholders from various sectors actively participated in the event to explore innovative solutions for research, administration, and the learning environment.

 

At the beginning of the program, the Director of IQAC, Professor Dr. Mostofa Mahmud Hasan, delivered the welcome speech. This was followed by an address from the CEO of BdREN, Mr. Mohammad Tawrit, who highlighted the organization’s commitment to advancing digital transformation across Bangladesh’s education and research network. The Chief Guest and Special Guest reaffirmed their institutional support for this initiative.

 

BdREN experts conducted several technical sessions to present their service areas, AI-powered tools, network security solutions, and e-resource portfolio. A special segment on AI-powered survey tools demonstrated practical applications that institutions can adopt to enhance efficiency and support data-driven decision-making.

 

One of the key highlights of the workshop was the discussion session on enhancing collaboration, where participants exchanged ideas and explored opportunities for future partnerships under the BdREN network.

The program concluded with a networking lunch, reaffirming BdREN’s role as a catalyst for innovation, collaboration, and technology adoption in Bangladesh’s higher education system.

 

Finally, the workshop was formally declared closed with sincere thanks extended to all participants for their contributions to its successful organization, along with best wishes for the overall progress of both institutions.

Key Objectives

The primary objectives of the daylong workshop titled “Enhancement of Collaboration and Use of Generative AI” were: 1. To strengthen institutional collaboration and partnership between Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU) and the Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN). 2. To promote awareness and understanding of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its potential applications in higher education, research, healthcare, and administrative services. 3. To enhance the digital competencies of faculty members, medical professionals, officers, and staff through exposure to emerging AI technologies and innovative digital solutions. 4. To introduce participants to BdREN’s services, including advanced networking facilities, e-resources, cyber security solutions, and AI-powered tools that support academic and research excellence. 5. To encourage the adoption of technology-driven and data-informed practices for improving teaching-learning processes, research productivity, institutional management, and decision-making. 6. To create a platform for knowledge sharing, professional networking, and discussion of future collaborative initiatives among academic, research, and administrative stakeholders. 7. To support the continuous quality enhancement efforts of the university through the integration of innovative technologies and best practices in higher education.
