Leading the English Department debate team to victory in the Inter-Department Debate Competition during Sports Week became one of the most memorable achievements in the academic life of the team captain. The journey to the championship was far from easy. With only one night to prepare before the initial rounds, the team faced significant challenges that required determination, coordination, and resilience.  

Despite the limited preparation time, the unwavering dedication of the team members, the strict guidance of their senior mentors, and the continuous support of teachers and fellow students enabled the team to overcome every obstacle. Their collective effort played a crucial role in the department’s success.  

The final debate against the Law Department was particularly emotional and challenging. Following an earlier postponement, many feared that the competition might never take place. Comments from some members of the opposing team suggesting that the English Department had little chance of winning only strengthened the team’s resolve. Rather than responding with words, the team answered through preparation, discipline, and performance.  

The final round was intensely competitive, and the support from the English Department community was overwhelming. The enthusiastic cheers and applause from fellow students provided the team with immense confidence throughout the debate. Pride, joy, and gratitude filled the air when the Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Asraf Ali, announced the results and declared the English Department champions.  

The celebration that followed made the achievement even more special. Congratulations and recognition from the department’s teachers and the Head of Department highlighted the significance of the victory and the hard work behind it. To inspire and encourage students, the department awarded medals and crests to the winners and distributed sweets among all students. The championship not only brought honor to the English Department but also demonstrated the power of teamwork, perseverance, and dedication in achieving success.
