In a landmark initiative to foster stronger connections among graduates and the department, the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology (BCBT) officially inaugurated the BCBT Alumni Corner on May 2, 2026. The initiative was designed to enhance alumni engagement, encourage professional networking, and strengthen the bond between current students and graduates.

The Alumni Corner was formally inaugurated by the honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asraf Ali along with the department’s esteemed Emeritus Professor and Advisor, Dr. Hossain Reza, whose vision and guidance have played a significant role in promoting alumni involvement in departmental activities.

A key highlight of the program was the inspiring address delivered by Rumana Sharmin Shetu, on behalf of the BCBT Alumni Association. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of maintaining strong alumni ties, mentoring future graduates, and creating opportunities for collaboration among alumni, students, and faculty members. She also highlighted the vital role alumni can play in supporting career development, research initiatives, industrial networking, and institutional advancement.
