In a significant step toward enhancing industry-academia collaboration, the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology (BCBT) organized a special networking and partnership session as part of its ongoing efforts to create greater opportunities for students in research, industrial training, and professional development.

The initiative brought together distinguished representatives from leading pharmaceutical, healthcare, and research organizations, including Md. Shahaduzzaman, Deputy Manager (Production), Essential Drugs Company Limited, Bogura Plant; Ishtiaque Maruf, Chief Operating Officer, Plant, Doctor’s Chemical Works Ltd.; and Md. Arifur Rahman, Founder and Managing Director, Human Genetics Research & Training Center Ltd.

The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between academia and industry through in-plant training programs, internships, collaborative research initiatives, and skill-development opportunities. The invited professionals shared valuable perspectives on current industry demands and highlighted the importance of practical exposure alongside academic learning.

Particular emphasis was placed on expanding opportunities for BCBT students to gain hands-on experience in pharmaceutical production, quality control, biotechnology research, genetics, and healthcare-related sectors. The participants also explored potential avenues for future partnerships that could facilitate research collaboration, knowledge exchange, and workforce development.

Faculty members, students, and alumni actively engaged in the discussions, creating a dynamic platform for interaction and professional networking. The session reflected the department’s vision of preparing graduates who are not only academically competent but also equipped with the practical skills and industry insights required to excel in an increasingly competitive global landscape.

This collaborative effort marks another milestone in BCBT’s commitment to fostering innovation, research excellence, and meaningful industry engagement for the benefit of its students and future scientists.
