Helix Recombination 2026: Celebrating Excellence in Genetics, Research, and Academic Achievement

The Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology (BCBT), KYAU proudly organized “Helix Recombination 2026” in celebration of World DNA Day, bringing together students, faculty members, researchers, alumni, and distinguished guests in a vibrant showcase of scientific excellence, innovation, and academic achievement.
The event served as a unique platform to recognize outstanding contributions in education, research, leadership, and extracurricular activities. Throughout the programme, a wide range of prestigious awards, certificates, crests, and prize money were presented to deserving recipients. Students were honoured through Essay Competition, Debate Competition, and DNA Design Competition awards, while winners securing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions received crests and certificates in recognition of their achievements.
A major highlight of the programme was the Academic Brilliance Award, presented to students who achieved a perfect GPA of 4.00 in Spring 2025 and Summer 2025. The Outstanding Merit Award was also conferred upon the 15th batch for attaining the highest average GPA. Furthermore, the Student of the Department Award recognized exceptional all-round excellence among students.
The celebration also acknowledged research excellence through the presentation of Research Awards, Research Contribution Awards, and Faculty Research Contributory Awards, honouring remarkable scholarly accomplishments and contributions to scientific advancement.
In addition, certificates were awarded to Class Representatives (CRs), volunteers, and members of the Event Management Team for their dedication and service. Programme coordinators were recognized with appreciation crests for their invaluable leadership and commitment.
The debate competition concluded with Team Nucleic Acid emerging as Champion, while Team Mitochondria secured the Runner-up position.
The event was further enriched by the enthusiastic participation of alumni, whose presence strengthened the bond between past and present generations of BCBT. Through Helix Recombination 2026, the department reaffirmed its commitment to fostering academic excellence, research innovation, and a culture of recognition and inspiration for future scientific leaders.
