The Department of Pharmacy at Khwaja Yunus Ali University organized a field visit for students of the 24th and 25th batches to a Village of Medicinal Plants located in Natore Sadar Upazila, Natore, Bangladesh, on 08 May 2026. The visit was arranged to enhance experiential learning and connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.

The primary objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to medicinal plant cultivation, identification, and traditional uses of herbal resources. The field trip served as an important educational opportunity to bridge classroom-based pharmacognosy knowledge with natural product-based pharmaceutical practice.

During the visit, students observed a wide variety of medicinal plants and learned about their botanical characteristics, therapeutic uses, and cultivation methods. Local experts and guides provided detailed explanations regarding the traditional and scientific importance of these plants in healthcare and drug development.

Faculty members accompanying the students emphasized the significance of medicinal plants in modern pharmacy practice and encouraged students to explore research opportunities in herbal medicine and phytopharmaceuticals.

The students actively participated in discussions, asked insightful questions, and expressed strong interest in further research on medicinal plants. They appreciated the opportunity to learn directly from natural sources, which significantly enriched their academic understanding.

The Department of Pharmacy continues to promote such field-based learning activities to strengthen practical knowledge and inspire future research in pharmaceutical sciences.
