Humorous Debate Competition Organized by Microbe’s Club

The Microbe’s Club of the Department of Microbiology, Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU), successfully organized a Humorous Debate Competition on May 04, 2026, in Room 211, Administrative building, Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU). The event was arranged with the objective of promoting students’ public speaking skills, critical thinking, creativity, and confidence through an engaging and entertaining academic activity.

The theme of the competition was “Who is the Best in the Kingdom of Fruits?” Participants from different academic batches represented various fruits and presented humorous yet logical arguments in support of their chosen candidates. The competition provided a unique platform for students to demonstrate their analytical abilities, persuasive communication skills, and creativity while maintaining a lively and enjoyable atmosphere.

The program was chaired by Md. Babul Aktar, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Microbiology. The debate session was moderated by Dr. Md. Masudur Rahman Khalil, Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology. The judging panel consisted of Hazrat Ali, Lecturer; Nymur Rahman, Lecturer; and Md. Abu Hasan, Lecturer, Department of Microbiology, who evaluated the participants based on subject knowledge, logical analysis, creativity and humor, language delivery, and time management.

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across multiple batches and created a vibrant atmosphere of learning, healthy competition, and camaraderie. Following the evaluation process, Sumiya Parvin Reshmi (20th Batch), representing Banana, secured First Place. Md. Amirul Islam Khan (19th Batch), representing Mango, achieved Second Place, while Arifin Yeasmin (14th Batch), representing Papaya, earned Third Place. The winners were awarded commemorative crests, and certificates were presented to all participants in recognition of their efforts and participation.

The event reflects the Department of Microbiology’s continued commitment to promoting student engagement and holistic development through innovative academic and cultural activities. The Microbe’s Club remains dedicated to organizing similar initiatives that encourage creativity, leadership, and effective communication among students.
