Court Visit has been conducted for the students of the Department of Law, Khwaja Yunus Ali University

An educational court visit was conducted today at the District and Sessions Judge Court and the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court of Sirajganj with the participation of the students of the 18th and 19th batches of the Department of Law, Khwaja Yunus Ali University. The primary objective of this program was to provide students with practical legal knowledge and firsthand experience of judicial proceedings alongside their theoretical studies in the courses “Advocacy Workshop (Civil)” and “Advocacy Workshop (Criminal).”

The visit was conducted by Md. Jahurul Islam (19th Batch) and Tazimul Maruf (18th Batch) under the overall supervision of the Head of the Department, Mahadi Hasan Romel.

During the visit, the students had the opportunity to closely observe the proceedings of the Court of the District and Sessions Judge, the Court of the Additional District and Sessions Judge, the Civil Judge Court (Belkuchi), and other judicial courts. They directly witnessed various stages of judicial procedures, including the taking cognizance of cases, examination and cross-examination of witnesses, recording of depositions, presentation of arguments, and the filing of appeals and revisions. This practical exposure enabled the students to gain valuable real-life legal experience.

Through this court visit, the students acquired important insights into court procedures, the practical application of laws, and different aspects of the legal profession. The program also served as an effective bridge between theoretical legal education and its practical implementation, which will play a significant role in enhancing the professional skills of future legal practitioners and law graduates.

Special thanks are extended to the learned District and Sessions Judge, Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, for his sincere cooperation in facilitating the visit by dividing the students into different groups and directing them to various courts through prior instructions to the concerned courts. His support and guidance greatly contributed to the effectiveness of this educational program.

In addition, invitations were formally extended to the Hon’ble District and Sessions Judge and the President of the Sirajganj Bar Association to attend the upcoming “Felicitation for Newly Enrolled Advocates and The Art of Letting Go Ceremony” organized by the Department.

It is noteworthy that the Department of Law of Khwaja Yunus Ali University regularly arranges practical learning activities such as court visits, police station (thana) visits, moot courts, and shadow trials to ensure experiential legal education for its students.
