Inter-Batch Debate Competition

In an effort to promote intellectual engagement, analytical excellence, and effective communication among students, the Department of Business Administration organized a highly competitive and intellectually stimulating Inter-Batch Debate Competition on Tuesday, May 11, 2026, at Room No. 211 of the Administrative Building. The event brought together students from the 23rd and 26th batches, creating a vibrant academic environment enriched with logic, critical thinking, and persuasive argumentation.

The motion for the debate was, “The foundation of business lies not in capital, but in ideas and intellectual strength.” Both teams presented well-structured arguments supported by analytical interpretation, practical perspectives, and evidence-based reasoning. Through an impressive display of intellectual depth and persuasive presentation, the 26th Batch emerged victorious by speaking against the motion.

The program was honored by the presence of Dr. Mostafa Mahmud Hasan, Dean of the BBA Faculty and Head of IQAC, who attended the event as the Chief Guest and Moderator. Dr. Md. Motahar Hossain, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Business Administration, joined the program as the Special Guest. Their insightful remarks and encouragement greatly inspired the participating students and highlighted the importance of co-curricular engagement in higher education.

The esteemed panel of judges comprised Md. Zahidul Islam, Assistant Professor; Md. Sabbir Hossain, Assistant Professor; and Mayeesha Tasfia, Lecturer. The event was further enriched by the presence of several respected faculty members, including Hasan Md. Mahmudul Hasan, A.B.M. Mashiuddoula, Md. Moniruzzaman, Md. Kamrul Hasan, Sheuli Akter, Ismail Hossain, and Akhi Khatun, whose participation and support added dignity to the occasion.

Representing the proposition side  from the 23rd Batch were Rifat Hasan (Team Leader), Sharmin Akter, and Mahmudul Hasan. On the opposition side, the 26th Batch was represented by Mohammad Mehrab (Team Leader), Rana Hamid, and Shamim Sadik. Demonstrating outstanding argumentative ability, analytical insight, and confident presentation skills, Shamim Sadik was declared the Best Debater of the competition.

The successful completion of the debate competition reflected the department’s continued commitment to promoting academic excellence alongside intellectual and co-curricular development. The event provided students with an effective platform to strengthen their communication skills, teamwork, leadership abilities, and critical perspectives, thereby contributing significantly to their overall personal and professional growth.
