The event kicked off at 9:30am with a rally and a formal ribbon-cutting inauguration, followed by an Art Exhibition and Competition and the launch of the English Department's own magazine which was a proud milestone for the department.
The program was chaired by Md. Sumon Ahmed, Assistant Professor and Head of the English Department, who delivered the welcome address. Professor Dr. Md. Aminul Haque spoke on behalf of the English faculty, while Dr. Hossain Reza, Professor Emeritus and Advisor, addressed the gathering as Special Guest. The Chief Guest, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Asraf Ali, delivered the keynote address, lending the occasion significant institutional weight.
Afterwards, students took the center stage. Scene plays from four of Shakespeare's greatest works were performed back to back: Othello, The Merchant of Venice, Romeo and Juliet, King Lear and As You Like It. Between acts, students performed songs, poetry recitations and dance performances. The program closed with a crowd-pleasing Costume Parade and Ramp Show, where students brought the timeless Shakespearean characters.
The highlight of the closing session was the Academic Excellence Award where the top-ranked student from each batch who secured first place in their previous semester were formally recognized and awarded, celebrating academic achievement alongside artistic talent.
Later on, the event became even more memorable as the teachers also participated by performing songs and reciting poems, bringing the program to a graceful conclusion.
The program concluded with the Prize Giving Ceremony and Vote of Thanks delivered by the Head of the Department, Md. Sumon Ahmed, which brought the vibrant and memorable celebration to a fitting close.
