Health Welfare Committee

Venue

KYAU, Enayetpur, Sirajganj

Introduction

Good health is the foundation on which every student’s learning, creativity and future career are built. With this belief, the Health-Welfare Committee of Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU) organised a Regular Health Check-Up Campaign for students, reaffirming its commitment to the physical wellbeing of the university community. The campaign carried the message “Care today builds a healthier tomorrow,” a reminder that small, timely steps towards healthcare today can prevent far greater problems in the future.

Programme Details

The campaign was held from 21 to 30 September, 2026 with daily sessions from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, on the KYAU premises at Enayetpur, Sirajganj. Because the check-ups were held on campus, the service was easily accessible, allowing students to attend to their health between classes without travelling elsewhere or losing valuable study time.

Purpose of the Campaign

Busy with classes, assignments and examinations, many students tend to postpone medical check-ups until a problem becomes serious. A regular health check-up helps to identify concerns early, encourages healthy habits and gives students a trusted place to ask questions about their wellbeing. By organising such a programme on a regular basis, the Committee aims to build a culture of preventive care within the university, in which looking after one’s health is regarded as a normal and important part of student life.

Supervision and Teamwork

The campaign was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Fazle Rabbi Shakil Ahmed of the Department of Pharmacy, who also serves as Dean of the Faculty of Biomedical Science. His guidance and academic experience ensured that the programme was carried out in an organised and responsible manner. Overall supervision was undertaken by all the members of the Health-Welfare Committee, who worked together throughout the campaign to manage the schedule, assist the students who came forward, and keep the programme smooth, orderly and welcoming. The success of the campaign is the result of their shared effort, time and dedication.

Tribute to the Founder

The Committee takes this opportunity to respectfully remember and honour the Founder and Chairman of Khwaja Yunus Ali University, Dr. M. M. Amjad Hussain. His vision gave rise to an institution devoted not only to education but also to the welfare of the community around it. Initiatives such as this health check-up campaign continue that spirit of service and care.

 Words of Gratitude

The Health-Welfare Committee extends its sincere thanks to Prof. Dr. Rubaiyat Farzana Hussain, Member Secretary of the Board of Trustees of KYAU and Director of Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College & Hospital (KYAMCH). Her thoughtful planning and constant encouragement have contributed to the success of all the Committee’s activities, and her support gives the Committee the confidence and motivation to keep working for the health and wellbeing of students.

Conclusion

The Regular Health Check-Up Campaign was a meaningful and worthwhile initiative that promoted health awareness among the students of KYAU. The Health-Welfare Committee hopes to continue organising such programmes in the future, so that every student can study, grow and succeed in good health. Students are encouraged to make regular health check-ups a habit and to seek medical advice whenever they feel unwell.
