Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU) conducted its formal Question Moderation Process from July 28 to August 13, 2026, as part of its ongoing commitment to academic quality assurance and standardized assessment. The moderation process was carried out by the respective Departmental Moderation Committees to systematically review, refine, and approve question papers for the Summer 2026 Midterm Examinations.
Ensuring Quality, Fairness and CLO Alignment
The moderation process focused on ensuring that examination questions were clear, relevant, syllabus-aligned, and appropriately balanced in difficulty. Particular attention was given to avoiding unnecessary repetition from previous examinations while ensuring that questions assessed students’ genuine understanding rather than relying primarily on memorization.
The committees also reviewed the alignment of questions with the Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) to ensure that the assessment effectively measured the intended learning achievements of each course. This structured moderation process helped promote consistency, fairness, academic rigor, and transparency in the University’s examination system.
Participating Academic Departments
The moderation process involved 12 academic departments across three schools:
- School of Biomedical & Life Sciences: Department of Pharmacy, Department of Microbiology (MBL), and Department of Biochemistry & Biotechnology (BCBT).
- School of Science & Engineering: Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Department of Information & Communication Technology (ICT), Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE), and Department of Mechatronics Engineering (MTE).
- School of Business & Social Science: Department of Business Administration, Department of Management Information Systems (MIS), Department of English, Department of Law, and Department of Islamic Studies.
Through this systematic moderation mechanism, KYAU continues to strengthen its quality assurance culture and assessment practices, ensuring that examination processes remain aligned with academic standards and intended learning outcomes.
