The Department of English successfully organised Sports Week 2026 from 4 to 10 August 2026, turning the campus into a vibrant tapestry of energy, enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and fellowship. The week-long celebration brought students and teachers together in a spirited display of talent, teamwork, and joyful competition. Prof. Dr. Mostofa Mahmud Hasan, Dean of Business and Social Sciences, inaugurated the tournament alongside the Head of the Department and other teachers.

For the female students, the events included Ball & Bin and Musical Chair. The Musical Chair, staged as the final sporting event, became a delightful crescendo to the week, filling the atmosphere with laughter, suspense, and exuberant celebration. Teachers also joined the contest with remarkable enthusiasm, and Md. Sozib Hosen, Assistant Professor, emerged victorious.

In the Female Football Final, the 21st Batch triumphed over the 18th Batch. The Male Football Final saw Verse Vipers defeat Metaphor XI, securing the title for the second consecutive time and becoming the back-to-back champions of The Bard Cup.

A vibrant student cultural programme then brought an artistic flourish to the celebration. The success of the week was further enriched by the guidance, coordination, and encouragement of Md. Sumon Ahmed, Head of the Department, whose thoughtful leadership and special lunch arrangement for students added warmth to the occasion.

Thus, Sports Week 2026 concluded as a memorable celebration where sport met art, rivalry blossomed into friendship, and competition gave way to camaraderie.
