As part of the Advocacy Workshop (Criminal), a practical court visit was organized to the Enayetpur Thana, Sirajganj. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize law students with the functioning of the criminal justice system, Thana decorum, professional responsibilities of Police Officers, and real-life application of procedural and substantive criminal law—instructor, Md. Jahurul Islam supervised the visit and provided professional guidance throughout the session.
Outcomes of the visit:
i) To develop trial advocacy skills.
ii) To gather practical knowledge of the criminal case filing procedure through physical visiting in the Thana arena
iii) To explore the real environment of the Thana premises
iv) To demonstrate the real scenario of the Than
v) To analyze how the theoretical knowledge is applied in the practical place
vi) To exchange views with the Inspector and Sub Inspector who are working in the Thana
vii) To experience what types of Criminal cases are lodged by the Thana
viii) To exchange views with Mr. Jahid Hosen, Officer in Charge, and Sobuj Kumar, SI, Enayetpur police Station.
. Objectives of the Visit
· To understand the structure and jurisdiction of criminal courts in Bangladesh
· To observe trial procedures under the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898
· To enhance advocacy skills, ethics, and professionalism
· To examine the roles of police officers
· To connect theoretical legal knowledge with practical field experience
· To develop confidence and motivation to pursue legal practice
