5th Meeting of KYAU Research Cell Reviews Disbursement of Grants for 14 Approved Research Projects

Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU) held a meeting of its Research and Innovation Cell on 23 August 2026 at 1:30 PM, chaired by Prof. Dr. Fazle Rabbi Shakil Ahmed, Convenor of the Cell and Dean of the School of Bio-medical Science, and coordinated by F. M. Javed Mehedi Shamrat, Member Secretary of the Research and Innovation Cell and Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
The meeting reviewed ongoing research activities, approved projects, and the allocation of research funds. Fourteen approved projects will receive funding from a sanctioned allocation of BDT 10,25,000, with 40% of each approved grant to be released initially. Researchers will receive project funds through cheque issuance, and the financial statements of the cell’s dedicated account will be reviewed every six months to ensure transparency and accountability.
The Cell also discussed strengthening institutional research activities, including support for Scopus-indexed publications, conferences, workshops, and seminars, as well as proposals for honorarium and dedicated office space. Selected Cell members will monitor research activities across faculties, while Heads of Departments will provide updated research information.
The meeting further emphasized regular research presentations and the circulation of research grants and opportunities among faculty members. The pending honorarium for approved Scopus-indexed publications from 2025 was also discussed and will be placed before the higher authority for necessary action.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to strengthening research coordination, supporting faculty research initiatives, and promoting a stronger culture of research and innovation at KYAU.
