Seerat-un-Nabi (SA) Discussion, Competitions and Award Ceremony Held at Khwaja Yunus Ali University

Khwaja Yunus Ali University organized a discussion session on Seerat-un-Nabi (SA), along with the Teachers’ Seerat Quiz Competition and Students’ Hadith Recitation Competition, followed by an award-giving ceremony, marking the observance of Holy Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SA), 1448 AH.

The programme was organized by the Department of Islamic Studies with the aim of promoting awareness of the life, character, teachings, and exemplary ideals of Prophet Muhammad (SA) among the university community.

Programme Highlights

The programme commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Md. Abdul Momin, a student of the Department of Islamic Studies. The event was conducted by Md. Mozammel Haque, Lecturer, Department of Islamic Studies.

Following the Qur’an recitation, Md. Atiqul Islam, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Islamic Studies, delivered the welcome address and welcomed the distinguished guests, faculty members, and students.

Professor Dr. Mohammad Shahed Akand, Professor, School of Science and Engineering, delivered the keynote address. He discussed various aspects of the life, character, teachings, and contributions of Prophet Muhammad (SA) to humanity. He emphasized that adopting the Prophet’s exemplary character and teachings can play a significant role in establishing ethical values in individual, family, and social life.

The programme was also attended by distinguished special guests, including Professor Dr. Fazle Rabbi Shakil Ahmed, Dean, School of Biomedical Science; Professor Dr. Mostafa Mahmud Hasan, Dean, School of Business and Social Science; and Professor Abu Torab Md. Hasan, Controller of Examinations.

Vice-Chancellor’s Address

The Chief Guest, Professor Dr. Md. Ashraf Ali, Vice-Chancellor of Khwaja Yunus Ali University, called upon the university community to follow the noble ideals of Prophet Muhammad (SA) in personal and social life.

In his speech, he highlighted the life of the Prophet (SA) as the finest model for humanity and emphasized that adherence to his teachings can contribute to building a morally responsible and humane society. He also stressed the importance of research on the Holy Qur’an and translating its teachings into practical life.

Cultural and Literary Segment

The cultural segment featured Naat-e-Rasul (SA) performed by Muslima Sultana, Lecturer, Department of English; Rubaiya Rajab Rabia, student of the Department of CSE; and Israt Jahan Prova, student of the Department of Pharmacy.

Abdullah Al Masud, a student of the Department of Business Administration, also recited a self-composed poem dedicated to Prophet Muhammad (SA).

Competition and Award Ceremony

The results of the Teachers’ Seerat Quiz Competition and the Students’ Hadith Recitation Competition based on Riyad-us-Salihin were announced during the programme. Prizes were subsequently distributed among the winners.

Closing Session

Dr. Md. Motahar Hossain, Director, Division of Students’ Welfare, delivered the closing remarks, expressing appreciation to the organizers, participants, and university community for their active involvement in the programme.

The event concluded with a Du'a and Munajat led by Md. Atiqul Islam, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Islamic Studies. The programme came to an end with the distribution of Tabarruk among the participants.

The Department of Islamic Studies, Khwaja Yunus Ali University, coordinated and managed the overall organization of the programme.
