National Sci-Fi Fare 2.0–2026 Inspires Young Innovators at Khwaja Yunus Ali University

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), in association with the EEE Club of Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU), successfully organized the National Sci-Fi Fare 2.0–2026 on 21st July 2026 at the university campus. The day-long national technological festival brought together students, researchers, innovators, and robotics enthusiasts from universities, and colleges across Bangladesh, creating a dynamic platform for technological innovation, engineering excellence, and scientific creativity.
The event featured a diverse range of competitions, including Line Following Robot (LFR), Robo Soccer, Robo Sumo, Project Showcase (University Level), Project Showcase (College/Diploma Level), and Poster Presentation. Participants from numerous renowned educational institutions competed with innovative projects and robotic solutions, making the event a vibrant celebration of science, technology, and innovation.The event witnessed the participation of around 400 students from educational institutions across Bangladesh, including approximately 150 participants in the university-level competitions and around 250 participants in the college/diploma-level competitions.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Professor Dr. Md. Asraf Ali, Vice Chancellor of Khwaja Yunus Ali University, as the Chief Guest. The program was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shahed Akond, Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering, and Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Prof. Dr. Mostofa Mahmud Hasan, Director, IQAC, alongside distinguished academicians, industry professionals, faculty members, and invited guests.
The competitions were conducted under the supervision of an eminent panel of judges led by Prof. Dr. Md. Selim Hossain, Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET), who served as the Chief Judge. The judging panel also comprised Biplob Hussain, Assistant Professor, Kishoreganj University; Gazi Golam Faruk, Associate Professor, State University of Bangladesh; A. S. M. Ahsanul Sarkar Akib, Managing Director, Robotech Valley; and Engr. Lutful Bashar, Assistant Engineer, North-West Power Generation Company Limited (NWPGCL).
The event was further enriched by the presence of distinguished guests, including Emeritus Prof. Dr. Hossain Reza, Advisor, Khwaja Yunus Ali University, and Engr. Shafiqul Islam, Chief Engineer, North-West Power Generation Company Limited (NWPGCL) also accompanied by dynamic engineers of the power plant. Their inspiring remarks encouraged participants to pursue innovation, research, and technological advancement.

A total prize pool of BDT 1.5 lakh was awarded to the winners across various competition categories in recognition of their outstanding technical expertise, creativity, and innovative achievements. Interestingly several teams of KYAU showed their extraordinary performance by securing position in different events.
In addition to securing the champion title in the Project Showcase (University Level) category at the National Sci-Fi Fare 2.0–2026, Team Elite Trio from Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU-EEE) achieved another remarkable milestone. The team earned qualification for the World Science, Development and Global Challenge (WSDGC) 2026 – International Round, scheduled to be held in Malaysia this September.
The overwhelming success of National Sci-Fi Fare 2.0–2026 reflects Khwaja Yunus Ali University's unwavering commitment to fostering innovation, scientific research, robotics, and engineering education. Beyond competition, the event served as a valuable networking platform where students, educators, researchers, and industry experts exchanged ideas, showcased cutting-edge technologies, and strengthened collaborative relationships.
The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the EEE Club extend their heartfelt appreciation to all participants, judges, distinguished guests, sponsors, volunteers, and organizing committee members whose dedication and collective efforts ensured the successful execution of the event.
