IQAC Hosts a Workshop on “Hands on Practice of Using AI in Research”

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU) organized a practical workshop titled "Hands on Practice of Using AI in Research" on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, to enhance faculty members' research skills through the effective and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The workshop was conducted by Mr. Subrota Sarker Rabin, Lecturer, Department of Mechatronics Engineering, and was attended by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Asraf Ali, International Relations Advisor, Professor Dr. N. A. Mallik, IQAC Director, Professor Dr. Mostofa Mahmud Hasan, and faculty members from all departments of the university.

Professor Dr. Mostofa Mahmud Hasan inaugurated the workshop by welcoming the participants and emphasizing the importance of practical learning over theoretical discussion. He encouraged faculty members to actively apply AI tools in their research activities and to strengthen the university's research culture through continuous practice.

During the hands-on session, Mr. Robin demonstrated the complete process of developing a research paper using AI-assisted tools. Beginning with topic selection and literature exploration, he guided participants through research paper preparation using Google-based platforms and various AI applications. He also introduced several useful AI-powered websites and digital resources that can support literature review, academic writing, data organization, and research productivity while promoting ethical and responsible AI use.

In his remarks, Professor Dr. MM Hasan encouraged faculty members to conduct meaningful research that contributes new knowledge rather than merely increasing publication numbers. He stressed the importance of maintaining updated departmental research records and urged participants to immediately apply the knowledge and practical skills gained from the workshop in their own research work.

An interactive question-and-answer session followed, where participants discussed the AI tools and research methods demonstrated during the workshop. The session provided an opportunity to clarify practical issues and further strengthened participants' confidence in integrating AI into academic research.

In his closing remarks, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Asraf Ali, emphasized the importance of AI-based research skills in higher education. He noted that practical workshops like "Hands on Practice of Using AI in Research" strengthen research capacity and foster academic excellence. He concluded by thanking IQAC, the resource person, and all participants for the successful organization of the workshop.
